Our Love Story

We're set for December 28th, 2024 - Lagos, Nigeria

Our story: Oluwafisade's Part

Oluwaseun was actually a birthday present from one of my sisters. At that point in my life, I wasn’t focused on relationships. I was just less than 2 years shy of living in Canada at the time and my main focus was securing the bag.

Sis called on my birthday to say she had a present for me but it was pending delivery. I told her not to stress knowing that anything sent from outside Canada comes with custom charges even if it’s a gift! *😂😂

She said it was a surprise and she hoped I’d like it. Every day after my birthday we talked about this mysterious present until she finally told me it was… a whole human. A human? wow! … How do you get a man wrapped in ribbons as your present **😂😂* . She knew I was not big on matchmaking, I always had an excuse when someone tried the matchmaking game with me.

Anyway, our conversations went from “I have a present for you” to “has he called yet?” And the obvious response was NO.

Fast forward to February – a month and 11 days later, I got a message from “someborri”– The introduction was so polite and I said to myself, I want to get to know this guy… and that’s how our journey of friendship and love and everything else across 4685.76 miles began.

Our story: Oluwaseun's Part

I sat, staring at my phone, my mind racing with indecision. “Do I call? Do I not?” The simple act of reaching out had never felt more daunting.

What would I even say? My thoughts spiraled: What if I come across as awkward? Or worse…creepy?
I didn’t know much about her, not really. I knew she lived in Canada—Manitoba, to be exact. A place as foreign to me, as the surface of the moon.

All I could picture were vast stretches of snow and endless prairies. What did People even talk about there? In England, the weather was the universal icebreaker. Maybe it worked everywhere?
With a mix of hope and nerves, I typed out a message—short, casual. My fingers hovered for a moment, and then, with a deep breath, I press send.

What’s the worst that can happen?
It didn’t take long for the reply to come, and to my surprise, the conversation just… flowed. What started as an innocent comment about the weather led us down a rabbit hole of shared thoughts, stories, and small details about life.

The rest became a blur. Day by day, week by week, our messages grew from occasional to constant, and what began as something tentative blossomed into something undeniable.

We found that we had more in common than we ever could have imagined, as if the miles between us had shrunk with every shared moment.

Oluwaseun & Oluwafisade

The odd weekly messages turned into daily chats….. we spoke of dreams, of the little things that made us laugh, of the vastness of the ocean between us—and yet, it felt like we were always just a heartbeat away.

Months became years, and through it all, our Friendship endured. It was effortless, like breathing…..What had once been a leap of faith turned into something steady, something beautiful.

Our bond, built on trust and time, had become a forever gift—an ocean-crossed Friendship that could weather any storm.
In the end, it wasn’t about where we lived or how we met. It was about the connection we shared, one that had stood the test of time and distance.

Here we are now, bound not by chance, but by choice—a great forever gift for a beautiful Soul. We had found each other ❤
